Does romance still exist?

Hey y’all welcome back!

Seeing as it’s almost Valentine’s Day, I thought what better to do my blog on love! So to my lover girls, I’d love to hear your take on whether you think romance has gone dead or whether true love still exists.

This might be a hot take, but somewhere between the 80s and now, men stopped being the romantic lovers they once were. Men used to write love letters, build houses, but as generations have changed, so have they. 

I’ll give them some credit though, some men genuinely are sweethearts and are capable of showing love; ‘just because’ flowers, spontaneous dates, thoughtful gifts. Don’t settle, girls!

Now, what I want to talk about are decorated hotel rooms. We’ve all seen them on social media, the girlfriend proposals and birthday surprises, where there’s rose petals everywhere and balloons on the wall. It’s cute. There was once a time all girls longed to receive this from their significant other, some still do.

But I saw a TikTok about how decorated hotel rooms can be lustful and it got me thinking. Do men decorate hotel rooms to get something out of it or is it simply their way of a meaningful gesture?

Why is there now a controversy on whether hotel rooms are lustful or romantic? Why are some against it now? Maybe the idea of it being ‘lustful’ is being blown out of proportion. I understand it to an extent though, because what can be done in a hotel room that can’t be done at a private dinner or a picnic for instance? 

Personally, I feel like it depends on the man. The right man will decorate a hotel room with nothing but the purest of intentions, simply providing a space to enjoy each others company. It’s definitely more private and takes away from prying eyes, so I get it.

What’s your ideal date for Valentines Day? Personally, I would love to be built a White House with blue shutters and a room overlooking the river so I can paint (Please tell me you get the reference🤣)
